Terms of Service.

Welcome to Offkrent. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Offkrent website, platform, and related services.

By accessing or using Offkrent, creating an account, submitting accommodation information, or using a service offered through the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the services.

If you use Offkrent on behalf of another person or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to act on their behalf.

Offkrent is a platform designed to help students discover accommodation opportunities around their campuses. Depending on the features available, users may browse accommodation information, submit accommodation details, contact relevant parties, or request accommodation-related services.

Unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular service, Offkrent acts as a platform connecting users with accommodation opportunities. A listing on Offkrent does not, by itself, mean that Offkrent owns, manages, or leases the property.

Offkrent is not automatically a party to any tenancy, lease, or other agreement made directly between a student and a property owner, agent, landlord, or other provider.

You must provide accurate information when creating or using an account and keep that information reasonably up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activities carried out through your account. Notify Offkrent promptly if you suspect unauthorised access or misuse.

Accommodation information may be submitted by users, property owners, agents, or other contributors. Users who submit information are responsible for ensuring that it is accurate, current, lawful, and submitted with the necessary authority.

You must not submit information about a property that you have no reasonable basis or authority to advertise. You must not misrepresent the location, condition, availability, rent, facilities, ownership, or terms of a property.

Students should review accommodation details carefully, ask relevant questions, and assess whether a property meets their needs before making payments or entering into an agreement.

Property owners, agents, and other accommodation providers are responsible for their authority to offer a property, the accuracy of the information they supply, and compliance with applicable housing and other legal requirements.

Users should independently confirm important matters such as the identity and authority of the person offering the property, the actual condition of the accommodation, rent, deposits, additional charges, tenancy terms, and availability.

Any agreement entered into directly between a student and a property provider remains subject to its terms and applicable law.

Offkrent may provide or facilitate inspection requests and other accommodation-related services where available. The scope, availability, requirements, and cost of each service will depend on the service offered and the information presented to you.

Submitting an inspection request does not automatically guarantee an appointment, access to a property, or that the property will remain available. Inspection arrangements may depend on confirmation by the relevant parties.

Users must follow communicated inspection instructions, provide accurate contact details, and behave respectfully toward property occupants, owners, agents, and other participants.

You should inspect a property and review relevant terms before committing to a tenancy whenever reasonably possible.

Some Offkrent features or services may require payment. Applicable fees, including any inspection fee, verification, facilitation, legal, or other service fee, will depend on the service involved and the terms disclosed to you before you confirm a transaction.

You should review the amount, purpose, recipient, and applicable conditions of a payment before proceeding. Do not assume that a payment to Offkrent is rent, a refundable tenancy deposit, or a payment to a property owner unless the transaction expressly says so.

Payment confirmation, service fulfilment, cancellations, failed transactions, refunds, and disputes will be handled according to the terms communicated for the relevant transaction and applicable law.

Nothing in these terms excludes any refund or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a separate payment or refund policy applies, that policy should be read together with these terms.

You may use Offkrent only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm other users, the platform, or the integrity of accommodation information.

The Offkrent name, branding, design, software, and other platform materials are owned by Offkrent or used with permission, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may use the platform for its intended purposes but may not copy, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit protected materials without the necessary permission.

If you submit listing details, photographs, or other content, you retain any rights you already have in that content. You grant Offkrent permission to host, reproduce, display, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, promote, and improve the relevant platform services, subject to applicable law and any additional terms presented to you.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the content and authorise the uses described above.

Offkrent may process personal information to operate accounts, display accommodation information, facilitate requests, provide customer support, maintain security, and deliver other platform services.

Personal information should be handled in accordance with the applicable privacy notice and relevant data protection laws. Please review our Privacy Policy for more information about how personal information is collected, used, and managed.

Users must not collect, disclose, or misuse another person’s personal information through Offkrent without an appropriate lawful basis or permission.

Offkrent may link to or integrate with third-party websites, payment providers, communication tools, or other services. These services may have their own terms, privacy policies, and requirements.

Offkrent does not control every third-party service or external website. You should review the relevant third-party terms before using them. This does not limit any responsibility that applicable law places on Offkrent.

We aim to keep Offkrent useful and accessible, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that every listing or feature will always be available.

We may update, suspend, restrict, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, operational reasons, legal compliance, or platform improvements.

We may also update these terms from time to time. Where required by law, we will provide notice or obtain consent before changes take effect. The revised version will identify its effective or last-updated date.

We may investigate suspected misuse and take reasonable action where an account or activity appears to violate these terms, threaten other users, compromise platform security, or breach applicable law.

Where appropriate and legally permitted, we may provide notice or an opportunity to resolve an issue. Suspension or termination does not remove obligations or rights that accrued before the action took effect.

Accommodation decisions can involve significant financial and personal considerations. Users should independently assess listings and confirm important details before paying money or entering into an agreement.

To the extent permitted by law, Offkrent does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, continued availability, suitability, or condition of accommodation information supplied by third parties. A listing or platform feature should not be treated as a guarantee of a property’s quality, ownership, safety, or legal status unless expressly confirmed in writing by Offkrent.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Offkrent will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform or dealings between users and third parties. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, consumer rights, or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Nothing in this section removes responsibility for obligations that applicable law requires Offkrent to fulfil.

To the extent permitted by law, you may be responsible for losses, claims, or reasonable costs arising from your unlawful conduct, your breach of these terms, or content you submit that infringes another person’s rights. This provision does not apply to the extent a loss was caused by Offkrent’s own breach of a legal obligation or where such responsibility cannot lawfully be imposed on you.

These terms are intended to operate subject to the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and any other mandatory laws applicable to your use of the services.

If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact Offkrent first so we can try to resolve the matter constructively. Nothing in these terms prevents you from exercising a legal right to bring a claim before a competent court or use another lawful dispute-resolution process.

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

A failure or delay in enforcing a provision does not necessarily waive the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer rights or obligations under these terms where doing so is prohibited without the required consent.

These terms should be read together with any additional terms or policies expressly made applicable to a particular Offkrent service.
